'The Visitor' aka 'Stridulum' (1979) - Giulio Paradisi.
Frequent visitations to this sinisterly strange, reality-wrecking, wilfully wonky, Sci-High, 'Unidentified Film Oddity' may inexorably lead to the permanent emancipation of the fatally frazzled remnants of your trash movie mangled sanity! And for me, maverick director Giulio Paradisi's cosmically comedic, trope-thrashingly trippy, horror/Sci-fi/fantasy movie mash-up is one uniquely unbalanced, dramatically demented, blissfully psychedelic B-Movie brain-blaster!
While 'The Visitor' aggressively makes Swiss cheese of celluloid convention, taking lurid liberties with your logic-denied think sponge, and is scurrilously steeped in narrative incongruity, if perceived to be a purely 'hallucinatory experience', rather than simply being dismissed as just another cheaply disposable, quickly forgotten, spaced out time-waster, the terrifically transgressive, majestically mythic, and not infrequently inventive, 'The Visitor' remains a monumentally mental, theologically twisted Midnight Movie freak-out that doesn't outstay its wickedly warped welcome! - Be aware that Paradisis's fabulously far-flung phantasmagoria IS drugs, so it is strongly recommended that 'The Visitor' NOT be taken with any additional psychoactive substances, since pronounced, wildly unpredictable, and debilitating cognitive side-effects are inevitable! If Captain Beefheart had made a fast and bulbous, Sativa-slaked sci-fi/horror hybrid, it might be no less heroically tweaked than 'The Visitor'.
