'The Visitor' aka 'Stridulum' (1979) - Giulio Paradisi.
Frequent visitations to this sinisterly strange, reality-wrecking, wilfully wonky, Sci-High, 'Unidentified Film Oddity' shall inexorably lead to the permanent emancipation of your trash movie-mangled cerebrum's last fatally frazzled remnants! For me, maverick director Giulio Paradisi's cosmically kooky, trope-thrashingly trippy, horror/Sci-fi/fantasy misshape remains one UNIQUELY unbalanced, dramatically demented, blissfully psychedelic B-Movie brain-blaster!
'The Visitor' aggressively makes Swiss cheese of celluloid convention, taking lurid liberties with your logic-denied think sponge, and is scurrilously steeped in profound narrative incongruity. Perceived as a purely 'hallucinatory experience', rather than blithely dismissed as another whacked-out time-waster, the transgressive, inadvertently mythic, and not infrequently inventive, 'The Visitor' remains a monumentally mad, theologically twisted Euro-cult fever dream! Be strongly aware that Paradisis's fabulously far-flung phantasmagoria IS drugs, so it is strongly recommended that 'The Visitor' NOT be taken with any additional psychoactive substances, since pronounced, wildly unpredictable, and debilitating cognitive side-effects are inevitable! If Captain Beefheart had made a fast and bulbous, Sativa-slaked sci-fi/horror hybrid, it might be no less heroically tweaked than 'The Visitor'.
