'2019 After the fall of New York' (1983) - Sergio Martino.
Muscular, magisterial man-cake, Michael 'Blastfighter' Sopkiw cuts quite an apocalyptic swish as flamboyantly attired,
Mad Max-mimic, Parsifal, who brutally surmounts several sickening,
sordidly mutated murder-beasts in the magnificently malevolent, pre-cert,
post-nuked, pre-gentrified New York, colourfully imagined by genre cinema's frequently unsung sultan of
sinfully stylish celluloid, Sergio Martino. The Giallo maestro's deliriously divine dystopian 80s diorama, '2019
After the fall of New York' is a low-budget mini marvel of sublime B-Movie ingenuity!
Using its indigenous, and FAR more mellifluous
sounding moniker of, 'Dopo La Caduta Di New York' arguably makes the film sound more exotic than it actually is!!! Happily, the amusingly garish, pulpy comic book plot concerning the last fertile woman only
temporarily distracts from the calculatingly erotic display of, Michael Sopkiw's
sinfully salacious sinews and his titanically triumphant breadth of rigidly
cemented chin! Personally, with trembling hand on my....er, heart, I'd more
than happily watch the sylph-waisted, Sopkiw masticate a wizened grape
between his burnished bicuspids, but for those needful swine who drearily
demand additional 'whizz-bag' for their epicurean edification, famed maestro
of B-movie mayhem, Sergio Martino packs more heady excitement into 96 maniacal minutes
than one could ever hope to experience on a boozy 24hr binge with one of the gamier denizens of Hamburg's infamous Reeperbahn!
