'She Killed in Ecstasy' (1971) – Jesús Franco.

While not held in quite the same high regard as masterfully multifaceted flesh-peddlar Jesús Franco's full-blooded, sensually suffocating, sapphically sinister splatter sensation 'Vampyros Lesbos', his starkly sinister, angst-ridden, photographically fabulous, existentially eerie follow up 'She Killed in Ecstasy' arguably remains as one of his most emotionally affecting works of titillatingly transgressive, surrealistically skewed, torso-torturing terror! Not long after her dreamy-delicious, matinee idol handsome hubby Dr. Johnson (Fred Williams)is coldly struck off the medical register for conducting morally off-piste, esoterically inquisitive, intrauterine experiments, the loving couple's warm, mutually adoring relationship is irreparably shattered, her despondent husband's professional reputation permanently ruined by his being so cruelly castigated by his peers; plus the additional torment of witnessing his life's work utterly destroyed finally rendering him wholly insane. His distraught, increasingly desperate wife, grief-stricken by the devastating loss of her great love, grimly embarks upon an erotically eviscerating, surgically sinister revenge. Visually spectacular, enjoying a remarkably vivid text, 'She Killed in Ecstasy' has one of the most deliciously dynamic, freak-funking, luridly lounged music scores of the 70s by ear-wormingly magnificent maestros Manfred Hübler & Siegfried Schwab, and sultry Spanish siren Soledad Miranda's sinewy, primal performance as the luxuriously lissome, diabolically diverting, lingerie-drenched, sinuously sexy surgeon slayer is easily worth the price of admission alone!!! Now immaculately presented on a pristine-looking Blu-ray edition, the more adventurously-inclined horror fan can marvel at Jesús Franco's most inventively illicit, morbidly melon-twisting, necromantically risque, psychologistically perverse, luxuriously lewd phantasmagorias in all its nefariously nubile glory!!
