'Outcast' (2014) – Nicholas Powell.
With its propah rousing battle scenes, sinuous sword fights, and bravura blood-spattered heroes journey shizz, 'Outcast' proved no less fascinating a period piece than 'Black Death' & 'Ironclad', as there's nothing even faintly saintly about these bellicose, battle-hardened Templars! Maestro Cage is especially choice as the ornery, booze-sotted, fright-wigged Gallain. The animated Cage's mythical invocation of his mountain-dwelling, one-eyed outlaw 'White Ghost' fitfully exudes a hilariously medieval-aged Gene Simmons weirdness! While I was initially expecting a royal bung-fest, 'Outcast' righteously threw down the gauntlet for some gnarly armour-plated action, which happily didn't stint on the valiant, skin-slashing swash and buckle! The wicked, ingloriously blood-thirsty martial miasma of the crusades are brought to remarkably visceral life in director/fight choreographer Nicholas Powell's surprisingly epic 12th century actioner!
Jacob's (Hayden Christensen) stirring evolution from emotionally barren, blithely murderous, hopelessly opium addicted Templar Knight to brave protector of the young prince is genuinely joyous to behold! The persistently lively 'Outcast' takes the timeless, age old movie melange of treacherous misdeeds, battle-born heroism, burgeoning love, and successfully gives it a vividly blood-soaked burnish that is sure to bedazzle any adventure-seeking film fans! The audio and visual quality of the Blu-ray is exemplary, dynamically dropping you within the blistering bellicosity of battle with a tremendous vivacity! 'Outcast' was compelling cinema, and I had enormous sympathy for the desperate plight of these cruelly beleaguered characters, thereby making the chaotic blood n' thunder climax all the more thrilling!

Templar knight heroically earns his halo the hard way!' - Weirdlingwolf.
