'The Bleeding' (2009) - Charles Picerni.

If the subjectively tantalizing prospect of watching a low-budget Gung ho, vampire-vaporizing shoot 'em up starring ex-footie thug Vinnie Jones, DMX, Armand Assante, Michael Madsen, Kat Von D doesn't fully engorge your trash movie gland, then, perhaps, the additionally tantalizing fact that Charles Picerni's ballistically boisterous 'The Bleeding' employs muscle-headed mini-Diesel Michael Matthias as gruff, monosyllabic ex-army ranger shotgun-strapped succubus slayer Shawn Black it might be best to venture to higher ground for a less bargain-binned, B-Horror buzz.

I dug the Grindhouse vibe on 'The Bleeding' a lot more than I expected to, and while Michael Madsen's acting CV has been on a bit of a slide of late, he's a riot as the unapologetically boozy, Tommy Gun blasting padre, perky Rachele Leah makes for an super easy on the eye main squeeze, and jacked, Jug Headed Black, while demonstratively no Snipes, is an amiable, no frills stars and stripes slayer, and director Picerni had the goodly sense to blow shizz up every now and again. Like 'Phantasm' long before it, vengeful dudes in raven-black muscle cars heroically hunting down black-hearted denizens of doom is ALWAYS a good B-Movie look, dude! And mister Black has himself one especially gnarly-looking ride! Hey! I'm aware 'The Bleeding' is some fundamentally goofy Gothic, and that frown clown Matthias exudes all the innate charisma of Cat Litter, but he's crudely effective, as is the film itself!

 A blunter shade of 'Blade'.
