'Halloween' (2007) - Rob Zombie.

While often disparaged, time has been gentler to, Rob Zombie's gruesomely supercharged stabfest than some might expect! Alongside his enjoyably caustic, 'The Devil's Rejects', 'Halloween' is, perhaps, one of the more consistently entertaining horror films of Mr. Zombie's colourful, yet somewhat erratic cinematic career. This savagely steam rolling, sinisterly slashing serenade of maniacal mayhem comes across like a wilfully perverse psychotronic slasher on steroids! The first act is a grimly downbeat, sleazily satisfying primer for the righteously wrong-headed, orgiastically outsized, deliciously distempered death-fest to come!! Zombie's brutally reimagined Halloween has a gritty, old school vibe, mischievously mixed up with a zestily Zombiefied twist!

Even the film's many detractors would have to begrudgingly admit that splatter Mad-Hatter, Zombie, cannily assembled an exceptionally fine cast for his gallopingly gruesome reboot of, John Carpenter's sleek 70s classic; with the towering teen-trashing titan, Taylor Mayne, menacingly proving himself to be one of the more majestically mayhemic, bloodthirstily bonkers iterations of the Myers mythos! This adrenalized, luridly blood-spattered, heroically heavy mental Halloween hack n' slash holocaust pitilessly annihilates the competition!!!

'Aye! when it comes to bravura slasher-splatter, size really DOES matter, since, Rob Zombie's gruesomely outsized, stab-happy berserker gorily makes lunch meat out of all the paltry, Mini-Myers shivering timorously before the psychotic wrath of this grotesquely girl goring goliath!!!!!' - Weirdlingwolf.
