A Pool without Water 1982 - Koji Wakamatsu.

A meticulous, darkly compelling examination of a seemingly benign married man's increasingly  cavalier descent into sexual perversion. The main protagonist, a frustrated ticket collector (Yuya Uchida), has a disturbingly blank personality, his quiet passivity making his degenerate actions all the more unsettling. A grey suburban male who finds erotic satisfaction in stalking, and chloroform-doping his young female victims becomes dangerously infatuated with beautiful waitress Nerika (Seiko Nakamura). Beautifully made, unflinchingly voyeuristic, brilliantly acted, and thrillingly perverse, Wakamatsu's immersive A Pool Without Water is far from swallow exploitation.
