Some PROFOUNDLY
hard-earned advice for any other scriveners out there.
When
you have tired of the project you are currently working on, the
moment you put it aside, thinking that it is finished is, in reality,
EXACTLY when it manifestly ISN'T! If you can break through this
comforting, self-imposed barrier and complete at least another 20+
drafts, you will have finally achieved what you mistakenly thought 20
drafts ago. Be a true savage, don't fall in love with your prose,
less is always more. Dig deep, I have written about all the most
painful experiences in my life, and this frequently jars things
loose, it's wholly agonizing, but worth it if you are legitimately
serious about creating work of genuine interest/originality. Only
rarely is the work immediately perfect, it's usually excrement until
you start to work on it, so, unlike a turd, you can, and must,
rigorously polish your prose. In truth, a great many films today are
prematurely released with the text at the excrement stage.
