'Vampires: Out For Blood' (2004) – Richard Brandes.

Loser-boozer cop Hank (Kevin Dillon) obsessively stalks his horror author ex-wife (Vanessa Angel), lives in his car, and is gorily gnawed upon by a rampant rave-organising master vampire, and now his life really sucks! Writer/director Brandes's noirishly techno'd terror trip into the seamy realm of illegal raves and restless graves is a sexy Full Moon-esque midnight romp! The dingy, downbeat setting of a dilapidated L.A. Hospital for the lusty vampire BPM bacchanal is certainly novel. The cast is fine, John Carl Buechler's vivid make-up FX prove gorgeously ghoulish, and the banging electronic score is loud enough to wake the dead! Dillon credibly revivifies his clichéd downer cop, and, as always, Lance Henriksen is far more charismatic than his stock dyspeptic cop demands, and vulpine Jodi Lyn O'Keefe is a tantalizingly toothsome treat as a sinfully sluttish succubus. 'Vampires: Out For Blood' is fun grisly-Gothic escapism for plasma hungry fans of Buffy, 'Blood For Chocolate', and 'Rise'.
