'Nothing But The Night' (1973) - Peter Sasdy.

Capably directed by esteemed Hammer Horror alumnus, Peter Sasdy, the reliable perpetrator of thrilling, frequently fright-laden film & TV entertainment. Compellingly acted, and frequently unsettling, quintessentially British 70s blood-chiller 'Nothing But The Night' (1973), while languorously paced, excitingly remains a raven dark, fascinatingly twisted, satanically singed Sci-folk horror gem. The enjoyably pulpy plot solidified by robust performances from beloved horror icons, Christopher Lee & Peter Cushing!

Sadly, they simply don't make actors of that exalted calibre any more! And the dynamic, fleshly fabulous, Diana Dors's stridently over-egged, zealously scene-masticating performance remains an outrageously camp, scene stealing delight! Not all that often praised, maestro Peter Sasdy's overlooked Black magic shocker has much to recommend it to Folk horror aficionados. The doomy, supernaturally strange, marrow-curdlingly sinister narrative about monstrously macabre medical malfeasance, and the expressly weird, mysteriously malign machinations of mentally manipulated terror tykes climaxes bizarrely in a satisfying lurid fashion!
