'Rats: Night of Terror' (1984) – Bruno Mattei.

One of Trash-Horror's most divisive alumni is the notoriously unapologetic plagiarist, infrequently fabulous film fabulist Bruno Mattei, probably one of the most frequently maligned genre directors, excluding Uwe Boll, and fellow terror Teuton Ulli Lommel, but all that having been said, Mattei's rabidly insane 'Rats: Night of Terror' is arguably one of the most consistently entertaining 'bad' 80s horror movies, easily ranking alongside the immortally bonkers 'Troll 2', and this is due in no small part to the uncommonly delicious, inadvertently hilarious dialogue, autistic-level genius dubbing, a grisly multitude of riotously grisly rat-induced mortality, as this ceaselessly squabbling gang of moronic motorcycle meatheads inopportunely hole up in a discarded research facility, wantonly gorging on the plentifully stored foodstuffs therein, only to discover that they would all too soon become the main source of protein for a ravening, red-eyed horde of savagely sentient, blood-crazed, flesh-flaying rodents! 'Rats: Night of Terror' is a terrifically trashy, guilelessly entertaining, zestfully apocalyptic 80s spaghetti splatter-sickie from master muck-maker Mattei!
