'Santa Sangre' (1989) – Alejandro Jodorowsky.
In the bygone era of info-dense, pleasantly-crumpled, ink-smudged fanzines and delightfully grotty-looking VHS bootlegs I knew this wizened acid casualty who made me some triumphantly eclectic mix tapes, and this querulous, quixotic curator of celestially dazzling celluloid would also frequently turn me on to a delightfully skewed selection of extraordinarily vivid counterculture cinema, and grand Guignol magus Alejandro Jodorowsky's kaleidoscopically macabre mind-circus 'Santa Sangre', was, perhaps one of the estimable Durexx's more life-altering suggestions, which led, somewhat inexorably to my life-long search for similarly pineal gland-popping, paradigm-shifting dark-lord celluloid, so, wherever you are Pian Durexx, I remain forever in your debt! And may all your States be greatly altered, man!
