'King Lear' (1970) - Peter Brook.

Hugely atmospheric, and witheringly bleak, Peter Brook's crepuscular masterpiece 'King Lear' (1970) is a majestically melancholic, dramatically downbeat masterpiece that rigorously remains one of the truly great film adaptations of the immortal bard! I've long been a great admirer of Paul Scofield, and this exceptionally fine, attention commanding actor is on especially fascinating form here!
