'Maximum Security' (2016) – R. Ellis Frazier.
The towering, heroically handsome action icon Dolph stars as Jack, a Teflon tough maverick ex-US Marine, turned freelance operator who initiates a wayward, DEA-sponsored, rather Gung ho plan to bring down the ruthless Mexican drug lord Capitan (Luis Gatica) that promptly lands him in Mexico's most notorious, high security prison 'La Juala' (The Cage), wherein the increasingly hostile inmates very soon discover that Stoic, wise-cracking Jack reveals himself to one ornery, fleet-fisted gringo, the statuesque, blonde-haired butt-kicker readily giving out as good as he gets! Jack's audacious plan to steal 20 million dollars from Capitan while suitably daring, very soon places Jack and his loyal team in a desperate situation, as the locked-down jail descends into chaos, as the ruthless Capitan employs nefarious plans of his own to stop the heist. While Maximum Security's premise isn't exactly original, also being hampered by a demonstratively low budget, the lugubrious, no-frills actioner is given its much-needed lustre by the dynamically dashing, deliciously charismatic presence of the world's favourite Swedish skell-crusher, whose stream hammer martial arts, and bullet-burnished charisma is quite clearly the most appealing element of these scrappy, rough n' tumble, jail-set B-Movie shenanigans. Sadly, 'Maximum Security' takes minimum risks and is all the worse for it, the less-than plentiful action scenes are a little slow and laboured, and while the poorly paced, generic DTV actioner never really ignites, the more ardent Dolph fans might still be able to see beyond the prosaic prison shoot 'em up's more formulaic nature, and simply enjoy the muscular main man do his inimitably heroic thing! And it must also be said that Jack's main squeeze Norma, played by sensational-looking Chilean bombshell Jocelyn Osorio is one hellacious hottie well worth doin' some serious time for, dude!
