'A Good Woman Is Hard to Find' (2019) – Abner Pastoll.

Abner Astoll's blistering, hammer-blow hard urban crime thriller is given additional emotional impact by the strident performance of the beautiful and hugely talented Sarah Bolger. The withdrawn, melancholy, grieving mother-of-two Sarah (Sarah Bolger)still lives on the rough, drug-raddled estate where her beloved husband was slain. With the murderer remaining at large, resentful of the terrible injustice, the increasingly isolated Sarah, consumed by anger and despair, only has the unconditional love of her two innocent young children sustaining her swiftly ebbing humanity. Her beloved children, perhaps, all that prevents her from succumbing completely to these hateful thoughts of revenge!

Not long after coming in unwelcome contact with sleazy, opportunistic drug dealer Tito (Andrew Simpson), Sarah's troubled life toxically takes a blacker turn which circuitously unearths the shattering discovery of her husband's callous murderer, and a heroically hyperbolic conclusion that gruesomely allows for Sarah's blood-soaked catharsis! The stunning hybridic horror 'A Good Woman Is Hard to Find' seamlessly blends depressive suburban melodrama and exultantly splattery set-pieces with remarkable fluency. While frequently lurid, Pastoll's Hatchet-edged suburban slasher is grounded by a cogent script, lively, three-dimensional characters, and relatable passions. Bolger's bravura portrayal of a protective matriarch and a memorably menacing turn from Edward Hogg as sociopathic goateed gangster Leo Miller effectively guarantees that 'A Good Brit-Thriller Has Just Been Found'!
