Three Monkeys (2008) - Nuri Bilge Ceylan.
Intimate, and utterly captivating cinema, I thoroughly enjoyed gifted Turkish filmmaker, Nuri Bilge Ceylan's powerful drama. Beautifully photographed, and no less immaculately performed, Three Monkeys comes highly recommended to those that relish dense, emotionally complex cinema. Like fellow masters, John Ford, or Leone, Ceylan's striking compositions are exquisite to behold, the eloquent close up's on the expressive actor's faces are both guarded and profoundly exposing.Tuesday, May 9, 2023
